Friday Afternoon - as the shadows lengthen ..

Well .. funny old day ... sloped off for a Pub Lunch with Annie & Oystein .. then have spent afternoon trying to bring order (ordure ?) out of chaos .. and failing ...

And at 4:30pm, the options are;

i) Home ?

ii) Home via Soho ?

iii) Home via Westminster ?

Midweek ! Yay !

Had a couple of drinks on my way Home last night .. got Home around 10pm.

Watched a very odd film called "Mysterious Skin" .. then finished P.G. Wodehouse's "Money in the Bank" (worth reading).

Up at 8am this morning .. in work around 9:45am .. to e-mails asking for urgent replies by 10:30am etc ... all I want is tea and biscuits ...

Tuesday Snoozeday - The Weekend Reviewed

Well Saturday was interesting ... picked up by Sean at 7:10am, picked up Darren in Putney at 7:25am ... drove down to Portsmouth and caught the 8:30 ferry over to the Isle of Wight. Had a bit of a jaunt around, got our "number" from the Prison main gate at midday then amused ourselves till visiting Time at 2pm.

Rocked up at 2pm, got frisked and then the sniffer dog ... on into the Visiting Room. Ian was brought in and seemed well and to be surviving quite reasonably.

We left at 4pm and caught the 5pm ferry back to the mainland (see pic). Then had a nice evening drive back via the Pubs of rural Hampshire.



















Sunday was pretty lazy .. Rolled along to the O&C for a lazy pint, had a late Lunch with a Friend at BKB .. then met up with another friend for an evening Drink.

After a chaotic start to Monday I went for a late Lunch at the National Liberal ... ended up staying on for tea and then rolling off to the Launch of Madsen Pirie's new book at the ASI.

Left there with a couple of the Chaps then rolled along to the Cardinal for a few beers .. Home around midnight.

Now at my desk bored to sobs ...

Friday Afternoon

Hmmm ... so Lunch with Dickie was not intended to be quite as boozy ... but at least a couple of bottles of white numbs the afternoon quite pleasantly.

Blimey ... 10 days since my last post.

Had a six day weekend at Home in Yorkshire. Was good fun, saw mad little nieces & Godson etc.

All cheerfully loopy. My youngest niece seems to have turned into a one girl assault group .. whereas her elder sister just questions everything, in minute detail !

Got back late on Tuesday.

Wednesday had Dinner at the National Liberal with David, Hope and Kate. Was a good laugh .. terrine, venison then cheese .. washed down with a couple of bottles of burgundy. Then a bottle of white on the Terrace to cool down.

Woke up with a migrane on Thursday which was a bit grim.

Now Friday and I'm off to meet my old Uni pal Dickie for Lunch. Nice old sort, gave up a job in PR to join the Met .. as you do.

Tomorrow I'm off to the Isle of Wight .. to visit a pal who is holidaying there at a Resort owned by HMQ.

Monday Evening

What a surprise ... invited along to the Welly by Mr Kee .. and we all turned up ... rolled off Home mercifully early after a few g&t's ....

Fun on the way to work this morning. Caught the no.76 by St Paul's as usual at 9:15am* and ground to a halt at Cheapside/Bank .. realised that we went 20 feet in 10 minutes .. got off in high dudgeon and caught the Northern Line (Vile vile vile !).

*God that makes me sound like Reggie Perrin ...

Surviving the Weekend ...

Hmmm ...

Went swimming after work on Friday. Feeling lively after that I popped into Soho for a quick drink. Had a few g&t's then rolled on down into Westminster, thinking I'd see who was around enroute to Victoria ... friendly faces in the RL and so I stayed .. and ended up slugging gin martinis in Zander at 1am ... then crashed at the Wilson-Gibbon's in Pimlico ..

Got Home at 10am, tumbled into Bed for a couple of Hours then up at midday and out again on 12:32 train.

Loafed around with a friend, cigar in JJ.Fox, cream tea at the Oxford & Cambridge ... then went to Nick's Birthday Party at the Well, St John's St .... Left there around 9pm .. on to Richard's Birthday Party at Bar Aquda, Maiden Lane .. left there after 11pm and went on to a Housewarming in Fulham, hosted by Hope, girlfriend of my pal David. Was still there watching dvds and chatting at 7am .. when I decided to go Home ...

Suffice to say that Sunday was a bit of a duvet day. Watched "The Queen at 80" .. "gawd bless yer Ma'am !"

Well setting up a blog is one way to spend a Friday afternoon at Work ...

Think I'll go for a swim after work .. then mooch on into Soho and see who is around ...

Absentmindedly accepted invitations recently without checking my Diary and am now supposed to be in three places at once tomorrow night ...
