The December Newsletter from the Bapchild and Tonge W.I
My friend Jules lives in a little village in Kent called Bapchild. They have a WI that sends out the twee-est Newsletter imaginable .. here is the December Newsletter from the Bapchild and Tonge W.I . For anyone who knows middle England this is priceless ..
" Bapchild and Tonge W.I. have enjoyed an active and interesting year with some excellent speakers. Mrs Liberson made a great impression with her talk about living on a boat, Mrs Baldwin with her beautiful quilts, Mrs Harper who told us about Inns Signs but the biggest impression was made by Mr Goodmand and his Oysters.
Several visits have been enjoyed during the year to Marks & Spencers to view their clothes, Canterbury College for lunch, a walk and tea at Gore Farm and a round walk of four miles to Rodersham stopping for lunch at the Fruiters Arms. The most memorable trip was to the Chocolate Lady in Essex. Some members have learnt short mat bowling and Croquet whilst others have enjoyed social afternoons and knitted serveral blankets for Delmelza House and Doubleday Lodge.
All members are now looking forward to the Christmas Lunch and the Handbell Ringers from Ospinge who are playing at the December meeting.
The Speaker in January is Mr Gurdon on "Travels with my chicken" and this meeting starts at 2pm. "
